In a world full of people designed around war (either healers or warriors), she really stands out to me because her purpose in the Gotei is so drastically different but somehow still fits into her own little niche where nobody else seems to be.

Nanao and I don’t have a lot in common, really – I tend to be more lazy than fastidious – but she and I both have a love of reading and organisation. She tends to be the little nagging voice in my head that says I ought to be studying when I’m fluffing about on tumblr instead. We’re also both flustered pretty easy! XD;
Favorite moment from your Muse’s canon, and why.
I’d have to say this is her latest appearance in the manga, showing her being a little bit badass against Haschwaldth. It adds a lot of weight and credit to her character, where as before she really didn’t have much going for her. The scene also suggest she (and probably Hinamori) are gifted in kidou even above most of the captains, which is really just awesome, considering how beat-down she tends to be by the anime fillers. And it’s just great to see that she’s not been forgotten completely!
