Belladonna: Silence

With nothing but a ‘sorry’ he’d left the letter in her hand and walked out. No comforting words of reassurance that she wouldn’t be left behind and no time for her to offer hollow words of congratulations, only footsteps that echoed and faded from a room that suddenly seemed far more empty than it had any right to be. She should have been proud for her captain but instead, Nanao felt an overwhelming loneliness take hold. This felt like goodbye.

Of course, it had been a very long time since she’d been that little girl waiting for someone that would never come back and Shunsui certainly wasn’t going never to be seen again but still… He had to leave her behind, didn’t he? No.

Nanao is somewhat selfconscious and very careful about the way she looks, trying not to draw too much attention to areas she deems ‘less than ideal’ as well as not overstating herself. She is a little envious of women with a slightly curvier appearance but doesn’t dislike her own slender frame enough to try to change it.
